The Daytona Beach Chess Club participated in a study conducted by Researchers Faye Gong and Jerod Moxley from Florida State University's cognitive psychology department. Faye has been working on this study since she was in China. These experiments are based on her former studies.  Assisting in the study was Jamie Tock. The purpose of the study was to better understand the relationship between move selection and memory.

Participants from the Club were Tony Cipollina,  Steve Lampkin,  Jim Ledford, Paul Lozano, Linda & Bill Manekas, Richard & Sean Senko and Paul Tomaino.

A special thanks to Steve Lampkin for volunteering his business, Learning Rx at 208 Booth St, Ormond Beach, providing a location to conduct the experiment.
